The following sales terms exclusively govern all business relations between the WVT Wissenschaftlicher Verlag Trier and the customer. Opposing terms and conditions on the part of customers will not be accepted unless the WVT has explicitly agreed to these in writing.

Conclusion of the Contract and Cancelation

The customer has the right to withdraw from the contract within two weeks after receipt of the goods. This is in accordance with §312d of the German Civil Code. The customer can withdraw from the contract in writing (also by e-mail) or by returning the goods within two weeks. If the order value exceeds 40 Euro (approximately 60 US $), the WVT will pay the reshipment costs.

The right of withdrawal does not apply to media (including CDs, video tapes, DVDs) or software that has been unsealed by the customer and does not apply to services provided online (e.g. downloading software). The WVT will accept orders from customers above the age of 18 only.

Shipment

Unless otherwise agreed, goods will be delivered to the shipping address given by the customer. Specifications on the delivery date are not binding unless a binding delivery date has been confirmed in exceptional cases. Prices do not include shipping and handling.

Due Date, Payment, Delay

Payment (plus costs of shipping and handling) is due upon receipt of the bill. Accepted payment methods include money transfer (within the European Union) or EURO order cheque, MASTER or VISA CARD.

If the customer is in default of payment, the WVT has the right to demand default interest at a rate of 5% (based on the basic interest rate of the European Central Bank). The WVT reserves the right to claim damages.

Purchasing on Account

The shipping address, the postal address and the billing address have to be the same for purchasing on account. Services provided online (e.g. downloading software) cannot be purchased on account. Payment is due upon receipt of the bill.

Retention of Title

The delivered goods remain the property of WVT until full payment has been received. 

Liability for defects

If the delivered goods are defective, the WVT will either repair the defective goods or replace them by goods free of defects. If the efforts to remedy the defects fail, the customer can withdraw from the contract, demand a reduction in purchase price or claim damages.

The WVT is not liable for damages not caused to the purchased product itself and is not liable for any further financial losses of the customer.

The customer is not entitled to claim damages if the defects have been caused by intention and if personal injury is involved. The customer is not entitled to assert claims based on §§ 1, 4 Product Liability Law (Produkthaftungsgesetz).

In case of a negligent breach of contract on the part of WVT, liability for defects is limited to the cost of the purchased goods.

The period of limitation is 24 months from the date of shipment.

Privacy

You do not have to enter personal information when accessing this website. The WVT uses personal information from costumers only for handling orders and for shipping goods and will not share this information with others.
